This meatless Monday started like every other Monday. I woke up at 11 am and had breakfast. Then I went to Zumba class at 2 and by 3:30pm I was having lunch with a friend at breadbox in the student union. I had dinner at around 8:30pm. Today I did not have any snacks because breakfast kept me full until lunch and in between lunch and dinner I had a nap and was doing school work to keep my mind off of food. The only meal that was affected was dinner because I had no meat my plate felt as if I was missing something. Mealtless Monday did not affect my meals for the rest of the week. I was excited to get Monday over with actually.
It still amazes me how much I am dependent on foods that have meat. I think I have been programmed to believe that having meat in at least 2/3 if not 3/3 of my meals must contain some sort of meat. I know that I can get my protein from different sources other than meat. But for me, meat is the easiest way to feel full and have my proper portion of protein for the day. I only spent money on lunch because I was on campus every other meal I prepared in the comfort of my own home.

My meatless Monday did not affect anyone around me because I prepare my meals for only myself here in school. My roommates and friends prepare their own meals as well. The resources I used were my own. I used the groceries I had in my house to prepare my meals and I cooked in my own kitchen.
